A BIT ABOUT ALICE:

Alice Newport, the national James B. Beam Ambassador, has worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years in the UK and across Australia. She has worked in many facets of the industry and in 2016, refocused her career to move away from working full time in venues to large scale events, and hospitality marketing before moving into brands full time. In that time she has worked with hospitality engagement platforms, small emerging Australian brands, and some of the world’s largest brands, first in the role she held with Pernod Ricard for almost half a decade and now, in her role with Beam Suntory.

After being one of the most junior Ambassadors to ever be nominated for the Bartender Magazine Ambassador of the year, she has continued to be a finalist each year since, and ranked as a finalist at the ALIA’s. She recently judged the Australian Rum awards and is a Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards judge.

She is a self-professed “hospo lifer”, having been drawn to hospitality at a young age when her dad opened a nightclub in her hometown when she was 13, and was always drawn back to the industry, even when exploring working in other areas.

When asked about her happy place, it’s sitting at bar either with her friends, or by herself with a book, a whiskey and probably a glass of wine, soaking in the glorious feeling that comes from being in a great venue.
